Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the AutoFreight platform. By creating an account or placing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer", "you") and AutoFreight Global Logistics Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with registered office at 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG ("AutoFreight", "we", "us").
By accessing our website or placing a vehicle shipping booking, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
2. Eligibility
To use the AutoFreight platform you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be the registered owner of the vehicle or have the owner's explicit authorisation to arrange its shipment
- Be resident or operating a business in the United Kingdom
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during registration and booking
We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel bookings where eligibility requirements are not met.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at info@autofreightglobal.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or are used fraudulently.
4. Our Services
AutoFreight provides vehicle freight logistics services from the United Kingdom to African destination ports, including:
- DVLA-verified vehicle data retrieval
- Automated shipping quotes
- Port assignment and vessel booking
- Customs and export documentation preparation
- Marine insurance arrangement
- Real-time shipment tracking
- Delivery note generation
We act as a freight forwarder and logistics agent. Actual carriage is performed by third-party shipping lines. AutoFreight is not a carrier and is not liable for loss or damage arising from the carrier's actions beyond what is covered by the marine insurance arranged on your behalf.
5. Quotes & Pricing
5.1 All quotes generated through our platform are valid for 30 days from the date of generation, unless otherwise stated.
5.2 Quotes are based on vehicle category (determined by dimensions and weight), origin port, destination port, and prevailing shipping rates. Prices include base shipping, port handling fees, customs documentation, and marine insurance.
5.3 Quotes are inclusive of VAT at the current UK rate (20%) where applicable.
5.4 We reserve the right to revise a quote if:
- The vehicle's actual dimensions, weight, or condition differ materially from DVLA data
- Fuel surcharges or port tariffs change between quote and payment
- The destination port changes after the quote is issued
5.5 Any additional charges incurred at the destination port (including import duties, local taxes, or port demurrage) are the Customer's sole responsibility unless expressly included in the quote.
6. Payment
6.1 Payment is due in full at the time of booking acceptance. We accept payment by credit/debit card via our Stripe-powered checkout.
6.2 Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received and verified.
6.3 All prices are in Pounds Sterling (GBP). If you pay in another currency, your card provider's exchange rate will apply and AutoFreight is not responsible for currency conversion fees.
6.4 Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe and is not stored on AutoFreight's servers. Stripe's terms apply to the payment transaction.
7. Vehicle Condition & Your Obligations
By submitting a booking you confirm and warrant that:
- The vehicle is road-legal or, if not, that you have disclosed this to us in advance
- The vehicle does not contain any prohibited items (drugs, weapons, illegal goods, or excessive personal effects)
- The fuel level does not exceed one-quarter of a tank
- The battery is charged sufficiently for the vehicle to be driven onto a vessel
- Any alarms are disabled or you have provided the disabling code
- The vehicle is free of significant pre-existing damage not already disclosed
- You hold valid title or authority to ship the vehicle
Failure to comply with these obligations may result in the vehicle being refused at the port, incurring additional charges that are your responsibility.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 AutoFreight's total liability to you in connection with any booking shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for that booking.
8.2 We are not liable for:
- Loss of profit, revenue, business, or goodwill
- Indirect or consequential loss of any kind
- Delays caused by weather, port congestion, industrial action, customs authorities, or other events outside our reasonable control
- Loss or damage to personal items left in a vehicle during transit
- Damage arising from the Customer's failure to comply with Section 7
8.3 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Marine Insurance
9.1 Marine insurance is arranged by AutoFreight on your behalf and included in the quoted price. Coverage is for the market value of the vehicle as declared at the time of booking.
9.2 Insurance coverage is subject to the terms of the marine insurance policy issued by our underwriters. A summary of key coverage terms is available on request.
9.3 Claims must be notified to us within 7 days of the vehicle arriving at the destination port. Late notification may prejudice your right to claim.
9.4 Coverage does not extend to personal items left in the vehicle, pre-existing damage, or damage arising from the Customer's failure to comply with Section 7.
10. Customs, Export & Import Compliance
10.1 AutoFreight prepares UK export documentation on your behalf. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information to enable us to do so.
10.2 Import duties, taxes, and clearance charges at the destination country are the Customer's sole responsibility unless explicitly stated otherwise in the quote.
10.3 You warrant that the shipment does not violate any applicable import or export laws or regulations. You indemnify AutoFreight against any fines, penalties, or costs arising from your breach of applicable laws.
10.4 AutoFreight will co-operate fully with HMRC, UK Border Force, and destination country authorities when lawfully required to do so.
11. Transit Times & Delays
11.1 Transit times provided in quotes and on our platform are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
11.2 AutoFreight is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to: weather conditions, port congestion, vessel mechanical issues, industrial action, or customs authority processing times.
11.3 Where a delay is caused by AutoFreight's negligence, our liability is limited to reimbursement of demonstrable additional storage costs directly resulting from that delay, up to a maximum of £250.
12. Cancellation & Refunds
12.1 Cancellation by Customer:
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled vessel departure: Full refund minus a £75 administration fee
- Cancellations made within 72 hours of scheduled vessel departure: No refund. Port handling and vessel charges will have already been incurred.
- Where a vehicle is refused at the port due to Customer's breach of Section 7: No refund. Additional port storage or return costs are the Customer's responsibility.
12.2 Cancellation by AutoFreight: Where we cancel a booking due to circumstances within our control, we will offer a full refund or alternative sailing date. We will not be liable for any further compensation.
12.3 Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
